Reliability of the Non-linear Modeling in Predicting the Size Distribution of the Grinding Products Under Different Operating Conditions

Abstract During the modeling of grinding systems, population balance (PBM) which considers a constant breakage rate has been widely used over past years. However, in some cases, PBM exhibited limitations, and time-dependent approaches have developed. Recently, non-linear framework traditional linear theory as partial case was introduced, thus allowing estimation product particle size distribution relation to time or specific energy input mill. In proposed model simplified form fundamental batch equation transformed into well-known Rosin–Rammler (RR) distribution. Besides, adaptability reliability prediction are among others dependent upon operating conditions mill adjustment RR experimental data. this study, series tests were performed using marble test material, investigated three loads single media, i.e., 40, 25.4, 12.7 mm. The results indicate that enables more accurate analysis grinding, compared PBM, for different conditions.
